Q. How did the economic, geographic, and political factors contribute to the enslavement of Africans in North America? Asked by T.J. - Tue Sep 16 19:44:04 2008 - History - 1 Answers - Comments A. It had a lot to do with it from both sides. Africans were selling there own people who's villages were captured. This helped Africans because at the time the West cost of Africa wasnt able to get a lot of things imported in so selling the people allowed them to pay a lot more for people to deliever to there region. It helped America cause this place has always been built on cheap labor. Political wise it was a lot larger in Africa. IT allowed some people to take power while others lost everything. In North America getting slaves didnt hit polotics until the slaves had been here for a while and some decided that they felt slaves were human also. Q. What new challenges did the British government face in North America after 1763? How did Britain attempt to meet those challenges and what were the responses by the colonists. Asked by Turbo - Tue Sep 20 12:50:50 2011 - History - 1 Answers - Comments A. 1763 ended the French and Indian War by the Treaty of Paris (called Seven Years War in Europe). The American colonists and Britain had fought together on the same side and Britain had won big. They got all of Canada and all of what later would be the Louisiana Purchase up to the Mississippi River all from the French. That tripled British territory in North America and after 1763 the British had to figure out a way to pay to run it all. They thought a good way would be to just tax the American colonists and make them pay for it, that way it wouldn't cost the British anything and it would still be theirs. The colonists responded by saying 'no taxation without representation' and began moving toward rebellion. Answered by lwhhow - Tue Sep 20 16:06:27 2011 From Yahoo Answer Search: "north america" |

Store: Amazon.com Price: $96.28 USD • Compare Prices ► Condition: new This remarkable compendium, the first (and perhaps last) of its kind, gathers current knowledge on the North American continent's store of lichens--those hard-to-classify, symbiotic composites of fungi and other organisms such as algae and cyanobacteria. Lichens are, admittedly, easy enough to overlook. They stand out in most people's minds only as the orange, green, or grayish patches that festoon rocks and trees in mountain regions. But they are far more widespread than that, writes research scientist Irwin Brodo. Nearly every bioregion has a complement, and the continent as a whole boasts nearly 3600 species (of about 14000 worldwide). The first part of this book offers a near-encyclopedic survey of these lichens' form, structure,… [cont.] From Google Product Search: "north america" |
